Welcome to
New Beginnings German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue
"New Beginnings German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is an all volunteer group whose purpose is to find permanent loving families for dogs that, through no fault of their own, find themselves without homes.  Many of us have had countless years of loving and caring for our own Shorthairs."

Although German Shorthairs are historically a hunting breed, our primary focus is to place dogs as indoor family members.  GSPs will be adopted only to persons with physically fenced yards.   All  dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption unless it is medically detrimental to the dog.

Our foremost responsibility is the security and happiness of each dog who comes our way.  Their new home must truly be a "New Beginning" for them.

"Helping dogs with people problems."

FUR BABY OF THE MONTH

BRITTA
BRITTA was surrendered by her owners at a shelter in TN after being put out to live with the sheep/goats when they were done with her. Being abandoned by her owners hasn't kept this young girl's spirit down!

She is a 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointed. Britta is a VERY sweet girl, who loves to cuddle, get rubs and give kisses! She is a ball of joy and such a clown. Britta enjoys playing with toys (by herself or with her people) and other dogs. Her other favorite pass times include: critter chasing, romping around the yard and going for walks/hikes. Britta rides well in the car and is always up for an adventure. She is looking for a big physically fenced in back yard to call her own.

At the end of the day, Britta settles in well for a night of relaxing on her big dog bed. She is crate trained and knows basic obedience. Britta is a very affectionate girl! loves to give kisses and snuggle up really close. Due to her energy and excitement, a home without young children would be best.

Pointers are hunters and chasers by nature and will take off like a shot after birds, cats or other small animals. For this reason, physical fencing is requried for adoption and should be at least 5 feet high.
Electronic or underground fencing will not be considered.

PLEASE read the adoption process! This is available on the first page of our adoption application.

Physical Fencing Required!

BRITTA is ready for her forever home.
